Education and Professional Development
Education is an integral part of FM professional performance and development. We are proud that members of the Sacramento Valley Chapter are continuing a tradition of providing educational opportunities to its membership through quarterly Professional Development Breakfast Events, Monthly Programs, California Sustainability Mayday, and through support of the IFMA Foundation.
|
| Professional Development Breakfast
Once a quarter, the Professional Development Committee hosts a breakfast event for all Chapter members and guests. The purpose of these events is to discuss hot topics in the world of FM while also aligning those topics to greater industry, economic and regulatory trends. These events are structured around the nine Competencies of the Certified Facilities Management Designation: Operations and Maintenance; Leadership and Management; Real Estate; Human & Environmental Factors; Planning & Project Management; Finance; Quality Assessment and Innovation; Communication and FM Technology. Please check the Chapter calendar for an upcoming Professional Development Breakfast or contact the Program Chair, Serena Pancoast, at spancoa@frk.com.

| IFMA Certification Programs: FMP and CFM
IFMA developed certification to meet the recognized need of the facility management profession for a designation that would not only help FMs gain additional credibility but also establish increased global recognition for the profession.
For more information about the Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential or the Facilitiy Management Professional (FMP) designation, visit www.ifma.org/career/credentials.cfm.
To assist Chapter members in preparing for the CFM, the Chapter has purchased a set of the CFM Exam Review Manual for members to check out. If you are interested in borrowing this CFM study manual, please contact Professional Development Co-Chair Todd Bierbaum at tbierbaum@uticorp.com.
